Before the session

  • Define the outcomes for the session
  • Structure the time – 20% introduction and evaluation, 80% experiential learning
  • ‘chunk’ learning into 15 minute blocks
  • Clearly define assessment

During the session

  • Engaging activities
  • 30% the facilitator speaking, 70% participants speaking
  • Maintain momentum and ensure that you’re linking the learning
  • Elicit feedback

After the session

  • Reflect on and evaluate your practice
  • Review your planning and activities and adjust where necessary
