3.2.2 – The TRACK Coaching Model at CHP

The TRACK Coaching Model at CHP

There are many different approaches to coaching.

There are currently + 10,000 titles of publications with ‘Coaching for Performance’ in their title on Amazon, so it is fair to say that coaching is currently recognized as a go-to strategy for improving the performance of individuals and teams.

As we discovered, one of the essential skills of coaching is ‘staying focused’.  Using a coaching model will help you stay focused during your coaching session so that you and your coachee can truly experience a powerful, transformative conversation.

At CHP we have developed our own coaching model.  The TRACK Coaching model is based on the powerful GROW model by John Whitmore.

Define targets & performance objectives

Set clear daily targets for all staff (capture/ conversion) or number of photos to sell per person

Make all targets SMART. Discuss daily targets with each RA

Where are you now in relation to their targets

Observe staff regularly (daily)

Discuss with staff how they are currently performing against targets

Team Briefing to highlight good performance and how current performance can be improved

What actions can you take to achieve your targets

Discuss potential actions that can be taken to improve
Agree any action from the staff member and any follow-up support from the Manager (e.g. mentoring from more experienced staff, more observations and one-to-one support)

What will I do to develop

Clear commitment from staff on the areas of focus to improve performance.

Staff to record the commitment on simple coaching record.

Once committed and clear on actions to improve performance – expectation staff will deliver kick-ass performance and knock it out the park!

Check back in with performance measures to ensure that staff are ‘on track’.
